Your inbox should feel like it's working for you, not against you. Forage is designed to help you breeze through your inbox.

Forage AI automatically labels all incoming mail and filters it according to your preferences.

Labels are like folders in Gmail and other mail apps. When Forage auto labels your emails, it is also sorting them into these folders. This keeps your inbox organized without any effort from you.

Set your preferences

In the Preferences tab of the app, you can see exactly how Forage is handling your email—and personalize it to your liking.

You can use Auto Labels to choose how each category of email is handled by default. Each label has a dropdown menu with three options:

  • Keep in inbox: Emails are labeled and stay in your inbox where you can see them

  • Summarize: Emails are labeled, moved out of your inbox, and included in your daily summary email

  • Auto Archive: Emails are labeled and moved out of your inbox

  • Move to Trash: Emails are moved immediately to the trash

Please note: At this time, Forage ignores conversations between you and other people. If we decide to offer features to help with conversations in the future, those features will be opt-in.

Use Custom Rules to handle specific senders

Custom rules give you full control over how Forage handles your emails. You can decide how specific senders are treated.

For example, if you have a favorite newsletter, a high-priority sender, or a time-sensitive update, you can create a rule to ensure this sender is handled just the way you want even if the category has a different setting.

How to create a custom rule

  1. Head to the Preferences tab in the app

  2. Scroll down to the Custom Rules section

  3. Click the (+) button

  4. Name your rule (optional)

  5. Search for the sender by name or email address

  6. Use the controls in the "Do this" section to specify how emails from this sender are handled.

  7. Save your new rule

Once saved, Forage will immediately begin applying it to incoming emails.
