All actions Forage takes in your inbox are reversible. So if you decide that you don't want to use Forage anymore, you can bring your inbox back to how you like it.

Forage does not conflict with Gmail filters you already have set up in your email account. For example, if you have a filter that applies a label, that filter will continue to work alongside the Auto Labels that Forage applies.

Forage sets up labels in your inbox

Gmail labels are folders used to organize emails. When an email is given a label, it will be sorted into the folder for that label. A single email can have multiple labels and therefore be sorted into multiple folders.

When you connect Forage to your Gmail account, it creates a few labels. There is a main folder named Forage and a sub-labels for each of the auto labels that Forage applies for you.

You can see these labels in your sidebar in Gmail and in other mail apps that support Gmail accounts.

Other labels:

  • ➡️ Next Forage: Emails that are filtered out of your inbox are temporarily added to this label until your next forage is delivered. When your next forage is delivered, this folder is emptied. Emails will remain unread until they are included in a forage so you can see how many emails are in the folder without opening it.

  • 🌱 All Forages: This folder contains all your forages. This makes it easy to see which ones you haven't read yet and to find a past forage.
