The Priority Filter intelligently identifies emails that you should see right away and keeps them in your inbox instead of adding them to your next forage.
The following types of emails are considered high priority:
Emails from people you know (such as colleagues, friends, or collaborators).
Financial alerts related to banking, invoices, and bills.
Security alerts and login codes
Shipping alerts for deliveries arriving in the next 24 hours or that have important updates.
Calendar & meeting invitations and other notifications related to upcoming appointments and events.
Collaboration notifications related to shared documents, files, and workspace collaboration software.
Travel-related notifications (flights, hotels, vehicle rentals, etc)
Urgent alerts from services you use.
Direct messages on social platforms and workplace chat
Emails labeled "Action required" by the sender.
If you would like to change this behavior, you can create custom filters. Any custom filters you create will override the decision made by the Priority Filter.
Example 1: If the Priority Filter says an email should stay in your inbox, but a custom filter says it should be auto archived, then it will be auto archived.
Example 2: If the Priority Filter says an email should be filtered out of your inbox, but a custom filter says it should stay in your inbox, then it will stay in your inbox.
