Forage always keeps messages from other people in your inbox where you can see them right away.

Privacy-first Approach

We do not use AI to process your personal conversations with other people. We also do not store any data about these personal conversations.

We do this with a "pre-filter" that uses basic information about each email (sender name, subject line, mailing lists, unsubscribe links) to decide if it is a personal message or not. This pre-filter does not use AI and does not read the full contents of the email.

When Forage determines an email is a personal message, it is immediately ignored, and all data about that email is forgotten. Only emails that are determined to not be personal messages are passed to the next step, which uses AI to make decisions about how each email should be handled.

If we add AI-powered features that apply to your personal messages, those features will be turned off on your account by default, and you will have the option to opt-in if you want access to those features.

We take privacy seriously
Your email data is only used to deliver features to you. We do not use your email data to train AI models, or improve the experience for other customers—and we never sell your data or share it with third-parties (the only exception is AI providers that we use to power our AI features).
