How to Use Text Badges for Products in Copilot?

TLDR

  1. Edit or create a product to add a text badge and optional start/expiry dates.

  2. Save and publish the product for it to appear where the product already appears.

  3. If you are using a new product, place the product in an article, gallery, or listing. Publish the page, and the text badge will appear on the live site.

Notes & Limitations (for Prime Day scope)

  • Graphic seals (e.g., badge icons or logos) are out of scope for the Prime Day launch.

  • Editors will not see graphic seals now; text badges are the only version available.

  • Badge scheduling (via start/expiry date) helps you plan without needing to manually toggle things on/off on the day. But text badges without an end date that have been overridden will need to be manually removed.

1. Edit or Create a Product and Add a Text Badge.

  • In Copilot, open the product you want to add a text badge to (or create a new product).

  • Look for a ‘Badges & Seals’ section in the product template.

  • Enter your text (e.g., “Best Seller,” “Ends Soon,” “Editor’s Pick”).

  • Optionally, set a start date and/or expiry date so the badge appears only in that window.

  • Save and publish the product.

Notes & Limitations

  • Text badges should be limited to 35 characters.

  • Text badges without a start date and expiry date will appear immediately and remain until deleted manually.

  • If you set a start date but not an expiry date, then this text badge will appear indefinitely from the start date.

  • A text badge with a start date and/or expiry date will override text badges without.

  • A text badge that has expired will be removed automatically and any ‘live’ text badge without an expiry date will reappear automatically once the expiry date of the former is met.

2. Save and Publish the Product

  • If you’re using an existing product, simply save and publish the product with your new text badge.

  • The system will include the text badge metadata when rendering the product.

  • Therefore, in all existing locations where the product is published, the text badge will now show.

3. Place the Product in a Page (if using a new Product)

  • If using a new Product, add the product to the article, gallery, bundle, or listing as you would normally.

  • Save and publish the page

  • Visit the live page and check that the product card is rendering the badge correctly.

  • If it’s not showing, confirm:

    • The product has the text badge filled

    • The current date falls between start and expiry
