  1. Find the video's embed code. See gif above.

  2. Copy the URL portion of the code—that is all Copilot needs to create the iFrame.

  3. Open the asset finder and click the Video tab.

  4. Paste the embed URL into the URL field.

  5. You can usually leave the width and height blank as your brand's configurations will automatically adjust for the player. Check with a teammate or your product manager if you are not sure. *Tip: If it's not looking quite right in preview, enter the width and height provided on Youtube within the html embed code.

  6. Click submit. Your video markdown will appear in the body of your document.

*Video vs iFrame:

If a video does not have a share URL (for example, it's an HTML page), use the iFrame tab instead of the Video tab. The embed process is the same.

We have created the Video tab in an attempt to separate Videos from iFrame, which we consider a catch-all for content that doesn't fit into other categories like Video or Social. This is an attempt to better sort data for future use cases, and for design ease.

Note: When previewing content with Video embeds, you may need to take one extra step. Because our previews use secure protocol (https), embeds using http do not render in the preview window. To view them:

  1. Click the copy button next to the external preview link.

  2. Paste it in your browser bar or a new browser tab.

  3. Load the page. Your videos and other embeds using http protocol will appear.
