We're excited to roll out an awesome Slack integration to Copilot. When multiple users are working on article simultaneously, you'll now have the option to open a Slack direct message straight from the article you're working on.

We understand that Slack is integral to the editorial process. We hope that this new feature will allow for a more seamless editing experience and can help collaborators communicate quickly when working together.

How does it work?

  • If someone else is in an article at the same time as you, you will continue to see this person's initials in the top-left corner so you can learn more about who is working on the piece at the same time. If you hover over their initials, their full name appears.

  • Now, you have the option to open a direct message with that user, by clicking on the circle with their initials. There, you'll see the Slack icon which you can click to open a direct message.

Note:

  • You'll only see this option appear if someone is working within the same piece of content as you, at the same time.

  • The user must have a company email associated with their Slack and Copilot account. If not, the option to Slack them will not appear.

  • This will only work for users who use the Slack desktop application.

Warning: If two users are working within an article and one of you needs to save, be sure notify the other user to leave the article to not save over the other's edits!
