In a continued effort to reduce overwritten content within Copilot (previous features include Copilot/Slack Integration & Overwrite Prevention Save Alert), we have added a new notification that displays to users when someone within that same article has made a save.

This new feature allows any users who are not working on the most recent version of a story (which is what leads to overwriting) to quickly refresh their page and no longer be at risk of overwriting a coworkers work.

When Will I See the Notification?

You will receive this notification if you are working within an article at the same time as someone else and they make a save.

This will appear because you are no longer on the most recent version of the story and the alert will allow you to go to the newly saved, most recent version to continue working!

What Should I Do If I Receive the Notification?

If you haven't made any changes or have made some very small changes that would not be difficult to re-do or carry over, we recommend you select the option of "Open Latest Version". This way you can begin working on the most up to date version of the article and can ensure you will not save over any of your coworkers work.

If you have a significant amount of unsaved changes within your article and receive the notification, we recommend you utilize the Copilot Slack Integration and message the coworker who is working within the story to understand the changes they saved.

If you want to continue working at the risk of saving over previous versions of your story you are able to select the x and continue working as usual.
