Live Stories is a content type built in Verso and Copilot. Brands can now create Live Story landing pages and make live updates that are instant and SEO-optimized. Live Stories are designed to win audience attention before, during and after an event. For more information on SEO Guidelines for Live Stories, learn more by viewing this article here.

How to set up the Live Story landing page:

1. Select “Create” on the top right corner, and choose “Live Story” from the drop down menu.

2. Set up your Live Story with a Headline, Dek, Body & Story Image/Story Video.

  • Body can be used as a simple introduction. It is not a required field. Optional.

  • Story Image and/or Story Video will be full bleed.

  • If Story Video is used, the player is “sticky” and will follow the page as you scroll down.

3. Add your Event Schedule and this is window of time your editorial team will be making frequent updates. During this window the “Live” indicator will appear in Google Search, on your Live Story, and on your brand's homepage, if the live story is featured there.

Once you have completed these fields and hit publish, it's time to make Live Updates.

How to make Live Updates:

  1. Once you’ve published your Live Story’s landing page, select “Create Live Updates” which will take you to a different interface.

  2. Enter the Title field. This is optional.

  3. Enter the Body field. The body field here functions the same as it does in other content types. Anything you can embed in an article, you can embed in a Live Update. Learn more about embedding images, social media content and video here.

  4. Enter the Author field. Users can select the Byline of an update from the pool of existing contributors for that brand. This field functions the same as the byline field on all content types. This is optional.

  5. Publish Live Update. If you post during the Event Schedule time window, then Live Updates will appear instantly in Verso and in Copilot. Live Updates are as fast as sending a text or tweet. There is no need to refresh the Live Story page to see new updates.

How to delete an update from a Live Story:

1. To delete an update, click the vertical three dots on the top right of your update. A drop down menu will appear with the option to delete.

Note: Deleting updates is not instant and it may take a few minutes for a deleted post to disappear from the front end.

How to edit an existing update:

1. To edit an existing update, click the vertical three dots on the top right of your update and then the drop down menu will appear with the option to edit updates.

Note: Updating existing posts is not instant and may take a few minutes for the update to appear.
