Adding Contracts and Work Orders

Adding contracts and work orders to contributors is a really powerful and vital feature of the Content Planner application and is key to getting the rights needed to progress content to publishing. It is also extremely useful for any other member of the Condé Nast Editorial teams globally when they are discovering and wanting to re-use or re-purpose the content for other brands and markets. Adding contracts and work orders allows you and others to see where the media provided by contributors has legally been agreed to be used, for what brands and markets and for what mediums and when.

When you assign a contributor to a piece of content, a list of existing contracts will appear allowing you to see if there is a contract and subsequent work order that suits the needs of your content. If a contract does not exist that suits your needs you can request to create a new one, if a work order does not exist that suits your needs (located in the existing work orders accordion under each contract) you can request to create a new one. If you are unsure of either of the above you can create a ‘Service Now’ request to get help on assigning or creating an appropriate contract and work order.

In the below example there are two global contracts available for the contributor to be chosen (in this example it is a Global Contract meaning it is available to all markets for the brands specified). The goal is to have a 'Contract' and 'Work Order' selected.
