Identifying Adaptations

Content planner allows you to see where your content is re-used by what brand and market and for what medium. Primarily if you are viewing a piece of content you can view the ‘Adaptations’ section on the content page or content fly-out.

An ‘Original’ content record refers to the first instance of content made. ‘Adaptation’ refers to any subsequent content made from that original for re-use in another brand, market and or medium. You could refer to this original as the parent and adaptations as the child stories.

In the ‘Adaptations’ section of the content record you can see the original/parent at the top of the adaptations tree. Whatever content record you are viewing will be highlighted in blue.

In the below example the original is being viewed and displays the child adaptations underneath where you can see the brands, markets and mediums it has been re-used for.

In the below example an adaptation is being viewed and highlights it in blue. You can see the original/parent story at the top and the other sibling adaptations along side it. For any content that is not the current record you can click them to view.

When you are viewing content record lists, for example the discovery page or planning pages, you will see an icon to the right of the content name. This will either indicate if the content is an original with adaptations (displaying a count of how many adaptations have been created) or is an adaptation itself. If a content record has no icon that means it is an original with no adaptations.

When discovering content or filtering content on the discovery page you can filter by original/adaptation. This can help in finding lead market stories to re-use.
