What does restaurant syndication mean?
Encore is Condé Nast’s internal platform that facilitates the quick and easy syndication of content between sites. Individual Articles, Galleries and Hotels can be syndicated on Encore.
Previously, if a CNT gallery with restaurant gallery slides was syndicated on Encore — the restaurants would not copy over to Copilot for the syndication.
Now, Encore supports restaurant syndication so the restaurants will copy over to the syndication in Copilot.
Example:
The restaurants will copy over as slides within the gallery syndication.
The restaurants will also copy over as individual restaurant pages and they will be available to find within Copilot search.
What will be the publish status of the syndicated restaurants?
All syndicated restaurants will copy over in draft status. The editor is required to publish each individual syndicated restaurant in order for them to appear on the website.
What restaurant fields will copy over?
All fields will copy over, excluding: Related Content, Taxonomy, Publishing Slug, and Collaborators.
What happens if I publish the gallery before publishing the restaurants?
The restaurants will not show on the site.
What happens if I syndicate a restaurant that I have syndicated in the past?
If you are syndicating a gallery that includes a restaurant that you have syndicated in the past, a new syndicated version of the restaurant will not be created. The existing version of the restaurant in Copilot will be added to your newly syndicated gallery. If the existing version of the restaurant has already been published in the past, it will not need to be republished.
Will restaurants be translated if I use Encore's translation tool?
No.
Can I syndicate individual restaurants on Encore?
No.
Can all CNT markets syndicate restaurants?
Yes.
What happens if a non-CNT brand syndicates a gallery with restaurants on Encore?
The restaurants will not copy over to their Copilot, but the photos associated with each restaurant will copy over.
Can I syndicate restaurants via Encore Shared Drafts?
Yes. It is possible to syndicate restaurants that are included within a gallery as gallery slides. If restaurants are in draft status or publish status on the original gallery, the restaurants will copy over with the same publish status on the syndication.
Can I syndicate restaurants if they are included in the body of the original Article or Gallery?
No.
