A Franchise Location is the location an applicant is looking to do business in. You set it up in the platform and assign it against the applicant's card, so every application can be tied to a specific store or area. It's a useful way to keep the full history and details against each application — and it also lets you filter applications by location.
How flexible is it?
Franchise Location works at two levels:
Specific — an exact store or address, e.g. 'Main Street Store, Christchurch'. This is the right fit for resales, since you can tie the applicant directly to the store they're looking to buy.
Generic — a broader area like a city, region, state or country. This is useful when a candidate hasn't settled on a store yet, or when you're tracking interest by area. In the image below, we're using a specific suburb.
How to assign a Franchise Location
You can add a Franchise Location in two ways:
When creating the application — after entering the first set of information on the 'Add Contact' screen (First Name, Last Name, Email and Primary Mobile Number), save it and a second pop-up will appear. On this 'Add Application' (or 'Start Application') screen, enter the location in the 'Franchise Location' field.
On an existing application — open the application card and click 'Edit Location' in the 'Franchise Location' row. You'll see a screen like this:
Note: enter the building or street number and name in the address bar (1 in the image above), then select from the list — or click 'Enter address manually' (2 in the image above).
If you click 'Enter address manually', you'll be asked to enter the full address details, as shown below:
Why is it useful?
Once a location is assigned, you can use the filtering features to pull up every applicant against a specific store or area.
This is especially powerful for resales: give each store being resold its own Franchise Location, and you can instantly see all applicants (or linked shareholder pairs) attached to it — so nothing gets lost and every opportunity is easy to find.
Tip: this is also a great way to keep track of leads and applicants from a specific location. If you ever need to review all the leads for a region — for a specific resale, for example — you'll have that list handy, ready to reach out and re-engage them in conversations about that location.
