Your references are people who if contacted either now or in the future, will attest to your good character. Your references do not need to be Massachusetts residents and all three references must sign and complete the endorsement form on page 27 of the candidate bulletin in ink.

Example of references

A colleague from work, your neighbor, your professor from college, your boss, someone from your volunteer organization, a childhood friend, a friend at the gym, etc.

References cannot be related to you by blood or marriage and cannot be someone who you do not know outside of the classroom.
