Your character references are people who if contacted either now or in the future, will attest to your good character. Your references can be from any state and they must sign and complete the endorsement form on page 1 of the candidate bulletin.

Example of references

A colleague from work, your neighbor, your professor from college, your boss, someone from your volunteer organization, a childhood friend, a friend at the gym, etc.

References cannot be related to you by blood or marriage and cannot be someone who you do not know outside of the classroom.
