Don't wait

Time and time again, we get applicants who just miss out on landing the perfect place because they take too long to book a place.

Summer and spring, around the times when universities start, are the busiest times for us. With low rent being so scarce in Vienna, our listings get booked out fast!

If you're looking to find the best places for the best prices, book a place at least six weeks in advance.

Save on rent using public transport

Vienna has an incredible public transportation system and great bicycle paths throughout the city.

Accessing the city center from one of our furthest apartments only takes 20 minutes.

That means travel time to / from an office or university is highly dependent on how close it is to a subway or tram station... or if you have a bike.

Some of the greatest deals can be found using the maps feature on desktop. Find places with lower rent but only a 15-20 minute commute to the city center.

Booking with a Partner, Friend, or Family

Whether you can stay together with another person depends on the type of listing and, in some cases, the landlord’s approval.

You can always find a stay on Friends in Flats for you and your partner or a friend. If you're trying to move in with a larger family, we'd suggest looking for accommodations on another service.

Entire Places

In listings marked as “Entire place”, you can generally stay together with:

  • your partner, or

  • a friend

These apartments are intended to be used by more than one person sharing the full unit.

Shared Flats

In shared flats, this always depends on:

  • the landlord’s decision, and

  • the size of the room

As a general rule of thumb:

  • In rooms of around 20 m², it is often possible to stay as a couple or with one friend

  • Final approval always lies with the landlord

If you would like to stay in a shared room together with your partner or a friend and this is not clearly stated in the listing, please contact us.

We can create a support ticket and investigate the case with the landlord for you.

Important Note

If you plan to stay together with another person, always mention this clearly in your application to the landlord.

This helps avoid misunderstandings and ensures the landlord can approve the arrangement in advance.

How do I know if it’s a shared flat or an entire place?

You can always check this on the listing details page.

The listing clearly shows whether it is a shared flat or an entire place in the icon section at the top of the page.
