Common things with Yodlee:
Banks update websites URLs at weekends, so the Yodlee screen-scraping breaks for 1-3 days because they can't read the new website
Yodlee only refreshes some things like Superannuation accounts every 30 days etc as it doesn't change as much as an Everday account
Yodlee's scrapers can break at any time, e.g. MFA exists on the bank account, a popup marketing message has started appearing on the bank website so it can't refresh
Providers decide to stop using Yodlee aggregation and are no longer available on our App
Issues with Providers
An issue with a provider would result in an account moving to an error status. Yodlee comes across connection failures with a provider whenever the site goes for maintenance or the site layout changes. While many of the top sites might notify Yodlee in advance of a layout change, this might not be followed in the case of smaller Financial Institutions.
Whenever there is a change to a Financial Institution site, Yodlee will have to tweak the code that runs the agent which fetches the data from the end site. The time taken to make the code change could vary depending on how extensive the site changes are.
There are instances wherein Yodlee is dependent on the Provider for fixing an issue, these issues can take time to resolve and we do our best to keep you updated on the status of any error tickets we report.
Refreshing & Synching
There are two actions that need to occur for your data to be refreshed:
Data Synching - This occurs twice a day with Yodlee, it happens in our back-end server, not from the App.
App Refreshing - The App refreshes when you open the App and it’s independent of the data sync. The App refresh only updates the nudges and the features in the App.
When the App is opened, the data doesn’t sync immediately, it shows whatever data the server has synched. The user can sync their own data from the App by going to the Accounts screen and performing a pull-to-refresh, after this action the app will only sync the data from the accounts associated with the user.
