This is what happened!
You haven’t selected a budget period
You need to change the defined budget period
You want to separate the Payday cycle from your budget period
However, the widget isn’t working as expected
Did you know
Budgets are aligned to your Payday cycle to track your spending against each budget category in your income cycle. Kick things off by selecting a category to budget against, view your spending totals in the current month to give you an idea of a budget limit, and get budgeting!
We recommend you align your budget period to your Payday cycle, this cycle can be Weekly, Fortnightly, or Monthly.
Here are a few tips to help you resolve your issue:
1. Paycycle budget period
Step 1: Scroll down to 'My Budgets' on the dashboard
Step 2: Select 'view'
Step 3: Select the Settings cog (top right-hand corner)
Step 4: Change Cycle > select a date to start (this cannot be a past date)
2. Budget cycle to a different period (date)
Step 1: Scroll down to 'My Budgets' on the dashboard
Step 2: Select a suggested category, or select the 'Show all Categories' button
Step 3: Browse the categories, select to create a new budget
The App will generate a summary against the chosen category with the following information:
Recommended: $
Last Month: $
Average (last 6 months): $
View spending history (to improve the widget you can recategorise transactions in the list, if necessary)
Step 4: Budget - type in a budget amount & press save
3. Reset your app
If you’re having issues after you’ve completed the steps above try deleting and downloading the app again, to refresh your data.
