Unassigned Reservations on Tape Chart

If you notice reservations coming in as Unassigned and you have ensured that there is no configuration that makes them coming in with this status, then you might be facing an issue.

  • Overbooking: while all reservations are coming in with specific room assignment, there is one or more that end up in the Unassigned bucket.

ensuring to have the folio number handy, and the confirmation number from the OTA.

  • Room Unavailable Error: if you click on an empty box on the Tape Chart, you might get an error in the folio saying 'Room Unavailable Error'. This means that although the box looks empty, there is a reservation that has not yet been assigned. Since the system keeps count of the available rooms in your system, this might be telling you that the empty box is not actually empty! There is a reservation that has not yet been assigned, and you have no more available rooms to sell for that date.

To troubleshoot, look for the Unassigned reservation: on every room type header on the Tape Chart, there is a row called Unassigned. If there is a number for the date in question that is '1' or more than '1', click on the number.

This will open a short menu where you can click on the folio number, to access it and assign a room to it.
