If you accidentally cancelled a reservation, you will be able to reinstate it in a simple step.
Firstly, in case you don't know the folio number of the cancelled reservation and you need to look for it, you should run the cancellation list to find it.
On the left side of the Tape Chart click on Cancelled Reservations List.
Select your filters and run the list to find the reservation.
If you know the name of the guest, you can also look it up via the Look Up search box on the left side of the Tape Chart.
Once you find the reservation, click on the folio number to open it up.
At the bottom, you will see a button Reinstate Reservation: click on it to reinstate the reservation.
Note: the system might throw an error if the room where the cancelled reservation was originally assigned is now busy. If you get this error, you will need to either move the new reservation into another room, or move the cancelled reservation to another room before reinstating it.
If a guest has booked through an OTA, like Booking.com or Expedia, please ensure to call the guest and ask them to cancel via the channel: if you cancel the booking on the Tape Chart, the channel will take the booking into account and you will need to pay the commission even if the booking is cancelled.
If you are integrated with the channels, please wait for the cancellation to be sent from Expedia or BDC.
If a guest has a split booking, you won't be able to cancel only part of a reservation: the best thing to do here would be to shorten the reservation to remove the undesired dates.
