Rooms may be unavailable for assignment to guests for various reasons. Frontdesk Anywhere allows you define rooms that were removed from use for Out of Order and Closed Room by Do Not Sell Function
HOW TO UPDATE OUT OF ORDER AND CLOSED ROOM STATUS
Using the Do Not Sell option you can take a room out of order or closed for a certain amount of time. Both the Out of Order and Closed status codes prevent you from assigning these rooms to reservations. The difference between the two status codes is that Closed rooms are taken out of availability and reservation cannot be assigned to Closed room while Out of Order rooms remain in availability and reservation can be assigned to Out of Order room.
Closed means that the room is not for sale because it needs repairs. The Out-Of-Order status is used if you want to block a room for touch up or small defect that is able to sell the room when needed, etc.
select Settings to access Control Panel --> select Rooms --> select Do Not Sell --> new window will popup --> select room to close --> select Start Date and End Date --> select status (Out of Order or Closed) --> enter Room Closed Reason --> SAVE
List of Closed Rooms
To release Out of Order and Closed Room status
select room by clicking selecting box --> select DELETE button
To edit Out of Order and Closed Room status
select room by clicking selecting box --> select EDIT button
Out of Order and Closed Room on room chart tape
There is no change on room chart tape for Out of Order room (example room number 614)
Gray tape with closed reason will display on room chart tape for Closed room
DO NOT SELL section will display a list of Closed room and Out of Order room as below, therefore you can review and follow up the status at anytime or in daily basis

Frontdesk Anywhere Do Not Sell function is operated slightly different than regular term

Frontdesk Anywhere's Closed - operate as Out of Order
