Is martingale or grid trading allowed?

Understand why martingale and grid strategies are prohibited and how they're treated as a Hard Breach.

Written by Team FD

No. Martingale, grid, and any strategy that increases position size after a loss to average down or recover losses are prohibited on Funded Daily accounts.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Progressively increasing lot size on the same or correlated instrument following a losing trade

  • Automated or manual stacking of positions designed to average down an entry price

  • Any high-risk position-sizing pattern used to mask real account drawdown

Martingale and grid strategies are classified as a Hard Breach and result in immediate account termination, regardless of overall profitability.
