How do I make a Lightning deposit?
Go to the Deposit page and select the Lightning tab under 'Use Crypto'.
Enter the amount you'd like to deposit (up to $10K USD).
Fun will generate a Lightning invoice for you.
Open your Lightning-compatible wallet or app and scan the QR code, or copy the Lightning invoice and paste it directly into your wallet.
Confirm and send the Bitcoin from your wallet.
If you're in the US and scanning with Cash App, you can also pay with any linked debit card, or your Cash App balance, instead of Bitcoin.
That's it. You'll receive a notification as soon as your deposit is detected - usually within seconds.
Which wallets and apps can I use?
Any wallet or app that supports the Bitcoin Lightning Network will work. Popular options include Cash App, Strike, Muun, and Phoenix. If your wallet can scan a Lightning invoice, you're good to go.
How long does a Lightning deposit take?
Lightning deposits typically complete in seconds. This is much faster than a standard Bitcoin deposit, which can take around 30 to 60 minutes to complete.
Is there a maximum deposit amount?
Yes - Lightning deposits have a maximum limit of $10,000 per transaction. For larger deposits, use the standard Bitcoin deposit method instead.
Can I reuse a Lightning invoice?
No. Each Lightning invoice is single-use and expires after a short period. Always return to the deposit page to generate a fresh invoice for each new deposit.
My deposit isn't showing up — what should I do?
Lightning deposits almost always post within a few seconds after you’ve sent them. If yours hasn't appeared after a few minutes, check that your wallet shows the payment as sent and contact support with your transaction details.
