If a transaction you made can’t be completed and needs to be returned, we may ask you to verify your wallet before we send the funds back. This short guide explains what verification is, why we ask for it, and what to do if it doesn’t work for your situation.
Why we ask you to verify your wallet
When a transaction is rejected, we need to confirm that the funds go back to the person who actually sent them. Verifying your wallet proves that you own the wallet the original transaction came from. This protects you and keeps your funds from going to the wrong person.
Signing is free and safe
Verification asks you to sign a message with your wallet. Signing a message:
Does not cost anything. There are no gas or network fees.
Does not move any funds or give anyone access to your wallet.
Is not a transaction, and nothing is sent onchain.
Is used only to confirm you own the wallet that sent the original transaction.
Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone, including our team. We will never ask for them.
How it works
Verify your wallet. Connect the wallet you used for the original transaction and sign the verification message when prompted.
Tell us where to send your funds. Reply to our support team with the wallet address where you’d like to receive the returned funds. This wallet:
Must be a wallet you own and can access.
Must be different from the wallet that sent the original transaction.
Wait for confirmation. Once your verification and new wallet address are reviewed, our team will process the return and let you know when it’s sent.
Please double check the address before sending it to us. Crypto transfers can’t be reversed once sent.
When verification won’t work
Some setups can’t sign a verification message. This may apply to you if:
You sent funds from a centralized exchange (such as Coinbase, Binance, or Kraken). Exchanges control the wallets your funds are sent from, so you can’t sign a message on their behalf.
You no longer have access to the original wallet (for example, a lost seed phrase or a deleted wallet app).
Someone else sent the funds for you, or you used a third-party payment service or app.
You used a wallet type that doesn’t support message signing, such as some smart contract or multisig wallets.
If any of these apply, don’t worry. Contact our support team (support@fun.xyz) and let us know your situation. We’ll walk you through the next steps to get your funds returned.
