Sending money can always be a little bit scary, especially when its crypto. Below is everything you need to know about receiving your crypto and what to do if you are concerned.
What you can't see
Whenever you submit a transaction on checkout, we complete a series of on- and off-chain payment orchestration actions to communicate between blockchains, downstream providers, and the connected dApp. Each added step introduces complexity that can lengthen the time to receive your crypto.
How to check the status of your transaction
First, check the following:
Have funds successfully been sent from your wallet/exchange/card?
Processing will only begin once Checkout registers funds as being received
Are you connected to the same wallet as where you sent the crypto?
Once the transaction has started processing, you can check its status through the following methods:
1. Active Checkout Widget
Post-transaction submission, you will be taken to the Checkout's status page where you can see the transaction details and on-chain data.
2. Account Widget*
If you've closed the Active Checkout Widget, you may be able to view your transaction history by navigating to the "Account" page on the connected dApp, and selecting the specific transaction in "Checkouts".
* In some experiences, our partners have chosen to exclude the Fun account section in favor of their own. In these circumstances, we will work with the partner to ensure you can still view your transactions.
How long do transactions typically take?
The time it takes for your transaction to settle/complete is influenced heavily by the payment method selected, blockchain network congestion, and complexity of the on-chain routing required.
Once Checkout successfully registers your assets as being received, we will aim to complete your transaction within the following timeframes:
PAYMENT METHOD | EXPECTED SETTLEMENT TIME |
On-chain/wallet deposits | < 2 mins |
Card deposits | < 3 mins |
Exchange deposits | < 4 mins |
Non-successful transactions
Transactions may be delayed or fail for a number of reasons. Our focus is ensuring your transaction completes successfully at the price you were quoted.
For non-successful transactions, your status page will display different states based on how long it has been since you submitted the order:
< 60 mins (Delayed): The countdown timer will update with a realistic order timeframe
< 60 mins (Failed): The screen will update to inform you of the failed transaction
> 60 mins delays: Any orders that haven't been received after 60 minutes will expire. In these instances, the Fun engineering team will open a ticket to investigate the issue and work to process the transaction
If your transaction displays as "Expired" or "Failed" after 24-hours, please contact the Fun team directly through the Fun Checkout widget
