Automated predictions

Create a forecast with automated predictions in Futrli.

Written by Futrli Support

Automated predictions use accounting data to create predictions for every account in a forecast automatically.

📎 NOTE: You can turn individual automated predictions on or off. You can also replace them with manual or imported predictions.

Create a forecast with automated predictions

When you create a forecast, select Use Futrli's automated predictions.

Every account in your chart of accounts automatically receives a prediction based on your historical accounting data.

The predictions appear in the Predicted rows throughout the forecast.

Understand prediction confidence

Turn on prediction explanations to see how each prediction calculates.

Each prediction includes a confidence indicator:

  • Green: High confidence

  • Amber: Review the prediction before relying on it

  • Red: Low confidence. Review and update the prediction if required

📌 TIP: For more information about confidence indicators, check the incorrect automated prediction guide.

How automated predictions work

Futrli analyses your historical accounting data for each account and identifies:

  • Trends

  • Seasonal patterns

  • Repeating activity

It uses this information to generate predictions for future periods.

For 3-way forecasts, Futrli also analyses historical payment behaviour to calculate when predicted income and expenditure are likely to affect cash flow.

How Futrli calculates VAT, GST, or sales tax

Futrli analyses historical transactions to determine the appropriate VAT, GST, or sales tax rate for each account.

These calculations update automatically each time your accounting data syncs.

Can I add automated predictions to an existing forecast?

No. You can only create auto-predictions when you create a new forecast.

If you created a forecast using another method, create a new forecast and select Create with automated predictions.
