Why you may be seeing duplicate email drafts in Outlook

Outlook automatically saves drafts every few minutes, which can sometimes lead to duplicates. If Fyxer AI drafts messages in parallel, you might see two versions of the same draft, don't worry, here's what could be causing it and how to fix it.

Fyxer AI relies on conversation threading to group related emails and drafts together. If Conversation View is turned off, you might see multiple drafts appearing separately.

In Outlook Desktop App > Go to View > Show as Conversations and enable it.

Common reasons for duplicate drafts:

  1. Threading confusion
If the conversation is too long or includes forwarded messages, Fyxer AI may treat it as separate threads and create multiple drafts.

  2. Manual “To Respond” label applied: If you manually apply the To Respond label, this no longer triggers a draft automatically.

  3. Manual forwarding to ai@fyxer.com
If you forward an email to request a draft and the AI also automatically drafts based on its categorization, this can result in two versions.

  4. Multiple inboxes connected
If you have more than one email address connected and the same message is routed through both, you might get duplicate responses.

Troubleshooting steps:

  • Avoid forwarding and let Fyxer work automatically
If Fyxer AI is already set to generate drafts, don’t forward the same email manually to ai@fyxer.com unless a draft hasn’t appeared. Use forwarding to ai@fyxer.com when you want a specific draft and add the word "draft" in the body of your email e.g., "please draft me a reply to the email I forwarded".

  • Clear out old drafts
If a conversation thread gets long, occasionally delete older draft replies to avoid clutter and confusion.

Here's how to manually request a draft from Fyxer AI:
