Understanding how Fyxer AI works inside Gmail

Fyxer AI helps you focus on what matters by applying smart labels to your emails, helping reduce major inbox clutter and saving you hours each week.

How Fyxer Uses Gmail Labels

Fyxer applies one label per email, based on priority, like:

  • 1: To Respond - needs action

  • 2: FYI - informational

  • 6: Awaiting Reply - sent, awaiting reply

This keeps things clear and scannable. While Gmail supports multiple labels, Fyxer chooses only one: the best fit for that message based on AI logic and your preferences.

Example: If an email clearly needs your attention, Fyxer will label it “1: To Respond” - even if it also contains marketing content. One label keeps things clean.

Where Your Emails Go (And Why)

You control where emails land using inbox visibility settings. To review:

  1. Go to Settings > Preferences > Email Categorization

  2. For each category, you'll see a checkbox:

  • Checked box = Email skips the inbox and is filed into the label only

  • Unchecked box = Email stays in your inbox and gets labeled

Be sure to click “Update Preferences” at the bottom to save any changes.

If Emails Seem to Be Missing

Here are a few things to check:

  • Search Gmail using labels:
Try searching label:1: To Respond or label:2: FYI - this shows emails even if they’ve left the inbox

  • Check your Conversation View settings:
Gmail threads emails by default. If it’s ON, older replies may be hidden in long threads. You can temporarily turn Conversation View off to check for emails.

  • Review your integration status:
In your Fyxer AI Dashboard, go to Integrations and make sure Gmail is connected and authorized properly.

Why Only One Label?

Fyxer uses a one-label-per-email system on purpose - to reduce mental overhead and help you focus. While Gmail allows more, we keep it simple:

  • One label = one clear priority

  • Cleaner UI, easier decision-making

  • No duplicates or misfires from overlapping tags
