Gabb Cloud securely backs up your child’s contacts, photos, videos, and settings from their Gabb Phone. Free with all plans, it works automatically at night or manually via the Gabb ID app, ensuring data is safe and easily restored to a new device.

What is Gabb Cloud? ☁️

Gabb Cloud is a free service included with every Gabb plan that securely backs up your critical data, such as contacts, photos, videos, and settings.

Your child must log in to their Gabb ID on their device to allow their data to be backed up to Gabb Cloud. Gabb Cloud automatically backs up your data every night.

What does Gabb Cloud back up? 🔄

Gabb Phone

Gabb Cloud backs up the following on Gabb Phones:

  • Contacts

  • Pictures

  • Videos

  • Audio and display settings (volume, wallpaper, etc.)

Gabb Cloud does not back up phone numbers, audio files, or text messages.

Gabb Watch

Gabb Cloud backs up the following on Gabb Watches on Gabb OS2:

  • Contacts

  • Gabb Go:

    • Coins

    • Pets

    • Actions

    • Tasks

    • Step tracker

  • Preset texts

  • Focus Modes

  • Volume control

  • Profile settings on the MyGabb app

How do I set up Gabb Cloud ⚙️

All of our Gabb Phone service plans include Gabb Cloud. Your child must log in to the Gabb ID app on their Gabb Phone in order to sync their data to Gabb Cloud. After they’re logged in to Gabb ID, their data will be backed up to the cloud automatically.

Follow these steps to set up Gabb Cloud on your child's Gabb Phone:

  1. Connect the Gabb Phone to WiFi. 🛜

  2. Open the Gabb ID app on the Gabb Phone.

  3. Select I’m a Kid.

  4. Create a new Gabb ID or sign in with an existing Gabb ID.

Automatic backups happen every night if the Gabb device is connected to WiFi. 🛜

Gabb Watches must be kept on the charger overnight and connected to WiFI to get automatic updates.

How do I back up data on Gabb Cloud?

Follow these steps

Manual

  1. Open the Gabb ID app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner, then tap Back Up Now.

Automatic

  1. Connect your Gabb device to WiFi. 🛜

  2. Log in to the Gabb ID app. Your data will automatically back up to Gabb Cloud every night.

Photos backup

  1. Open the Photos app on your Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap the cloud icon ☁️ in the top-right corner.

  3. Tap Sync Now to upload photos to Gabb Cloud.

How do I access Gabb Cloud?

You can verify your Gabb Cloud backup by logging into the Gabb Cloud Inspector and reviewing your data.

To access Gabb Cloud on the Gabb Phone, log in to the Gabb ID app from the Gabb Phone to log in.

Photos and videos stored on the cloud can be seen in the Photos app on the Gabb Phone.

This includes verifying your backup by logging into the Gabb Cloud Inspector.

How do I manually back up my data?

Follow these steps to manually back up your data:

  1. Log in to the Gabb ID app on your child's Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner, then tap Back Up Now. This will sync your data to the cloud.

➡️ Data syncing has a 10 minute timeout. If the data syncing times out, try manually backing up your data again.

How do I back up my photos?

To back up photos on your child's Gabb Phone:

  1. Open the Photos app on the Gabb Phone.

  2. Tap the cloud icon ☁️ in the top-right corner.

  3. Tap Sync Now.

My data is not backing up

Gabb Cloud automatically backs up your data every night. If your data isn’t backing up, try these steps:

  1. Log in to the Gabb ID app on your Gabb Phone using your child’s login information.

  2. Connect the Gabb Phone to WiFi. 🛜

  3. Enable all permissions for Gabb Cloud.

  4. Manually back up your data. ⬇️

How do I restore data from Gabb Cloud to my new Gabb Phone?

To restore data from Gabb Cloud to your new Gabb Phone:

  1. Connect the new Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch to WiFi. 🛜

  2. Log in to your child’s Gabb ID app on the new Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch using the same Gabb ID that you used on your old Gabb device.

  3. Let the data restore run without interruption (we recommend letting it restore overnight).

  4. Restart your Gabb Phone after it's finished restoring.

‼️ Keep in mind that it can take hours, or even days, to restore all of your data, depending on how much you had backed up. Make sure the Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch stays connected to WiFi when it's restoring.

How long does it take for my data to restore after I reset my Gabb device?

It can take up to 48 hours for your data to restore after you reset your Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch. Make sure the device is logged in to your child's Gabb ID and connected to WiFi during the entire process.

Keep your Gabb Watch on the charger during the restoration process.

Not all of my data was restored to my new phone

If your data didn't restore on your new Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch:

  1. Log in to MyGabb on your old Gabb device.

  2. Connect the phone or watch to WiFi. 🛜

  3. Manually back up your data. Make sure that your Gabb device stays connected to WiFi the entire time it's restoring.

  4. Sign out of Gabb ID on your old device, then use the same credentials to log in to Gabb ID on your new Gabb Phone or Gabb Watch.

If some of your data was not restored to your new Gabb Phone, sign into the Gabb Cloud Inspector to look for the missing data.

‼️ If you no longer have access to the old Gabb Phone then you won’t be able to restore your data.

How long does it take to restore my data?

It can take up to 24 hours for all of your data to be restored after a factory reset. Keep your Gabb device connected to WiFi and charged during the entire restoration process.

Keep your Gabb Watch on the charger during the entire restoration process.

Data backup did not finish

If your data backup did not finish, manually back up your data. If that doesn’t work, sign out of the Gabb ID app, then sign back in. After you sign back in, manually back up your data again.

How do I check the last backup date?

To check the last Gabb Cloud backup date, log in to the Gabb ID app from the Gabb Phone. The date and time of your last Gabb Cloud backup will be at the bottom of the screen.

Is there a limit to the files Gabb Cloud can back up?

There is no limit to the size of files Gabb Cloud can back up, but Gabb Cloud does not back up everything.

How do I transfer files from my Gabb Phone to a computer?

If you want to transfer files from your Gabb Phone to a computer, there are a few ways you can do this:

  1. USB cable: Connect your Gabb Phone to your computer and transfer the files.

    1. On your Gabb Phone:

      1. Connect your Gabb Phone to your computer using a USB cable.

      2. Unlock the phone, swipe down from the top, then tap the USB notification.

      3. Tap File Transfer.

    2. On your computer:

      1. Open File Explorer, locate the connected phone in the list, then navigate to the phone's internal storage.

      2. Select and drag the files to a folder on your computer.

      3. Safely disconnect the Gabb Phone from the computer.

  2. Micro SD card: If your Gabb Phone has a micro SD card, you can remove it and put it in your computer.

    1. Insert a micro SD card into your Gabb Phone.

    2. Transfer the files onto the micro SD card.

    3. Remove the micro SD card from the Gabb Phone, then insert it into your computer.

    4. Open File Explorer, locate the micro SD card, then select and drag the files from the micro SD card to your computer.
