Creating and Managing Orders
Once a forecast is confirmed, Gaia uses data from delivery windows, order guides, inventory amounts on hand, and production estimates to create the relevant orders (for each vendor, date, and product) for a week or other specific data range. If a forecast is updated and reconfirmed, or if forecasts from another week impact the created orders, or if inventory amounts change, the Shop action will update all orders to reflect the new requirements.
Forecasting & Production View
Best for checking orders for a specific week
Clicking on the "Order" panel gives users quick access to all their active orders. This view is ideal when validating order amounts for a specific week. Any changes to either the forecast or the order amount are immediately reflected in the statuses of the orders and recipes. This view also allows to identify all recipes that use a specific item to validate order amounts. Clicking on the item in the order will highlight all recipes that include the ingredient. Users can edit, place, and receive orders directly from the panel.
Orders Dashboard
Best for organizing and reporting
A table grid for easy grouping, sorting, and filtering orders by different attributes, such as vendor, status, order value, or site. This offers an easy way of approving orders for a central office or supervisor, or a quick view on total spend by vendor / school. Clicking on the order opens up the order panel, where users can edit, place, approve, and place orders.
