Accessing Gamoteca games through your organisation learning management system (LMS)

Your organization has a Gamoteca Enterprise agreement, which allows you to log in to Gamoteca using your learning management system (Agora, Kaya, etc) log in credentials.

There are two different ways to access Gamoteca games:

1. Accessing Gamoteca games through your learning management system (LMS), e.g. Agora, Kaya, etc.

You will find some of the courses on your LMS have a Gamoteca game included within them. As a learner you are able to:

  • Launch the games directly through the LMS with Single Sign-On (SSO)

  • Have your game progress recorded back to the LMS. This means that the LMS ‘knows’ whether you have completed or passed a game, which could be useful for a completion certificate in the course.

It is important to:

  • Start the game through the LMS so the link between the two platforms can be established

  • Use the latest version of the Google Chrome browser, as certain features are not supported on other browsers, e.g. video uploads

Here’s how to do it:

When you are viewing a course with a Gamoteca game, you will see an activity that looks like this:

2.Click on the link with the name of the game, a new tab will automatically appear on your browser (make sure to allow for pop-ups).

3.The new tab is the Gamoteca Sign In page. You will see your organisation login page, e.g. the Agora (Unicef) login option below. Click the “Sign In with...” button.

4. Your organisation login page will appear. Please enter the login credentials (email and password) for your organisation/LMS (note: if you are a Unicef staff member, please select the UNICEF option first).

6.You will also be prompted to allow Gamoteca to use your login information (name and email address) for the purpose of logging in and recording game progress and completion. Please agree to this by clicking the Confirm button. You can read more about Gamoteca’s privacy policy here.

7. You should now see the Gamoteca game details page. To start the game, click on the Start Game button.

2. Accessing Gamoteca games through the Player App or Browser

If you would like to play on your mobile device, we encourage you to download the Gamoteca app (available for Android or iOS), and log in to your Gamoteca account using the instructions below. With the mobile device you are also able to receive notifications when you are requested to complete a task.

Remember, to ensure game progress data is sent back to your organisation LMS, you should start the game on the browser though the organisation LMS, but you can continue playing it on the mobile app.

1.Download the Gamoteca app on your mobile device (available for Android or IOS) OR access it on an internet browser at play.gamoteca.com (please use Google Chrome)

2. Immediately after downloading the app or accessing the player browser you will see the following screen. Click on the Partner Sign In button

3. A few options will appear, select the one that corresponds to your organisation/LMS, e.g Agora (UNICEF)

4. Follow the rest of the instructions as in steps 4-6 above to enter your organization credentials and accept the data-sharing agreement.

5. Click on the Explore tab to view the games available for you to play. You should be able to see:

  • Games promoted by your organisation

  • Featured games promoted by the Gamoteca team
