Explains how rollup tags in a Dispatch Board are linked to the default High-Level Plan Board set in that board’s details.

Dispatch Board Configuration

Currently, if there are multiple High level plan Boards configured for a Project, when a rollup task is being assigned to a tag on a Dispatch Board during creation, all the rollup tags from all the boards are displayed. So, if there are similar rollup tags on two different plan boards, then, it becomes confusing to pick the right rollup task.

Set a Default High Level Plan Board in Dispatch Board Details Page

Assumption: A minimum of one or more High level Plan Boards exist in this project.

During creation of a Plan Board now we can configure from which Plan Board the rollup tags have to be displayed.

The User clicks 'Add Board' and then selects 'Daily Work Dispatch Board'

A new field 'Default High level Plan Board' field has been introduced. This is by default set to 'All'

Note: The reason this is set to 'All' by default is not to disturb the existing functionality to show all the rollups from all the Plan boards in a dispatch board. This is the basic behavior and relationship of the Plan and Dispatch board.

The user clicks on the field. The menu shows the names of all the Plan Boards and also the 'All' option.

He picks 'Bailey Hall High Level Plan Board'.

He enters all other mandatory fields and clicks on the 'Save' button and the 'Bailey Hall Dispatch Board' is created successfully.

Pick a rollup tag from the selected default Plan Board

Now that the default Plan Board has been set as 'Bailey Hall High level Plan Board', only its tags will be available to be picked as rollups for the dispatch tags being created in this board.

He clicks on the 'Add Tag' button in the 'Bailey Hall Dispatch Board'

In the 'Add Tag' Details page, he clicks on the 'Scheduling Rollup Items' field

It displays rollup items (Tags) from only the default board set in the Dispatch Details page of the board. ('Bailey Hall High Level Plan Board' in our scenario)

He picks one of the rollup tags and creates a tag successfully by clicking on the 'Add Work Tag' button.

Modify this default in Dispatch Board Details Page

The user clicks on the 'Edit' button in the toolbar to open the 'Edit Dispatch Board Details' page.

He clicks on the 'Default High Level Plan Board' field. The menu shows the names of all the Plan Boards and also the 'All' option.

He picks 'Abbey Hall High Level Plan Board' and clicks on the 'Save' button.

He is shown a popup “Selecting a different Plan Board will show the rollup items of that board. Selecting ‘All’ option will show rollup items from all Plan Boards. Are you sure you want to change?” Yes / No

Choosing 'Yes' will set the new default and save the Dispatch Board

Existing Tags will refer to the earlier mapped Roll ups and any New tags that will be created moving forward will refer to the New Plan Board mapped.

Choosing 'No' will retain and change any other changes made and ignore the default plan board change operation.
