How To Create A Resource In GantterAi:
You can create a resource in the resource view which is the fourth option on the left hand side of your gantter editor.
Once you are inside the “Resource View”, you can pick a resource type. This is a key step in creating resources since gantterAi has introduced some new types of resources the old gantter didn't have. See the screenshot below to see what the resource types are in gantterAi. These added resource types will make it much easier to assign work in a more flexible and realistic way.
GantterAI Resource Types Broken Down:
1. Users
Individuals who contribute to the project, such as employees, contractors, or stakeholders. They can be assigned to tasks and have specific roles, responsibilities, and workloads.
2. Companies
Organizations or business entities that participate in the project. This may include vendors, clients, subcontractors, or partner firms associated with project activities.
3. Work Teams
Groups of users organized to perform related tasks collaboratively. A work team typically represents a department, functional group, or project squad.
4. Work Categories
Classifications used to group tasks or resources by the type of work performed — for example, “Design,” “Development,” or “Testing.” Work categories help organize and filter project activities.
5. Industry
The business or professional sector relevant to the project, such as “Construction,” “IT Services,” or “Healthcare.” This helps align resources and templates with industry-specific standards or best practices.
6. Skills
Specific abilities, expertise, or qualifications that users or teams possess — for example, “Java Programming,” “Financial Analysis,” or “Graphic Design.” Skills can be matched to task requirements.
7. Materials
Physical items or consumables required to complete project work, such as raw materials, office supplies, or construction components. Material resources are often tracked by quantity and cost.
8. Tools
Equipment or instruments used by resources to perform project tasks. Tools can include machinery, software, or specialized instruments that support work execution.
9. Equipments
Larger or specialized assets used in project activities, often shared among teams. Examples include vehicles, heavy machinery, or lab equipment. Equipment usage may be scheduled and cost-tracked.
Then you can add the details such as the resources Name, Email, Company, Phone, Skill, Cost and Base Calendar. These details you can add will vary a bit depending on which type of resource you pick. For example things like materials, tools, and equipment won't have email or phone number columns since they're inanimate objects.
How To Assign Resources To Tasks In The CPM:
Once you have created all the resources you will need to complete your project you can start assigning them to they’re respective task. On the cpm side all you have to do is click into the resource column for any given task and you will be given a drop down of your resource to choose one or multiple resource's from.
You can even filter the resource type so you don't have to scroll through all the different types at once. You can even search for a specific resource using the search bar. You can also double tap on a task to open up the task settings. From there go to resources and you can assign resources from there as well.
How To Assign The Resource In Boards & Tag View:
Click on Boards option on the left Tab and select the Create Tag on the left hand bottom of the page.
Name the New Work Tag and then select the Resource option on the page.
Once Resources is selected choose the Type and then assign the resources responsible for the tag and hit save.
