Set up Google Assistant on your device

First you will need to make sure your device is set up to use Google Assistant. Here are some instructions from Google to do that:

You can find info and get things done with the help of your Google Assistant. Ask it questions and tell it to do things.

What you need

To use the Google Assistant, you’ll need a device with:

  • Android 5.0+ with at least 1.0GB of available memory or

  • Android 6.0+ with at least 1.5GB of available memory

  • Google app 6.13 or higher

  • Google Play services

  • 720p or higher screen resolution

  • Device's language set to a language listed above

Check your Android version

Check your Google app version

  1. On your device, open the Google app

    Google Search

    .

  2. On the Home screen, tap Menu

    Menu

    and then

    Settings

    and then

    About.

  3. Look for the version number at the top.

  4. If your version is below 6.13, go to the Google app page, then tap Update.

Check if you have Google Play services

  1. On your device, go to the Google Play services page.

  2. Tap Install. If you find "Uninstall" or "Deactivate," you already have Google Play services.

Start a conversation

  1. On your device, touch and hold the Home button or say "Hey Google." If the Google Assistant is off, you'll be asked to turn it on.

  2. Ask a question or say a command.

Tip: On devices running Android 8.0 and up, you can also talk to the Google Assistant when your device is locked by saying "Hey Google." Learn how to control what information displays on your lock screen.

Once this is set up you can use the following commands:

Hey Google, open Gatewise and Hey Google, open (Gate Name)

Please note- you should say the Gate Name the same way the button is named in the app. So if in your Gatewise App the Car Gate Button is named North Car Gate, you would say, Hey Google, Open Gatewise and Hey Google, open North Car Gate.
