Display Configuration

Match your company's formatting standards in GATHER.nexus. Configure currency display, decimals, and report presentation.

Accessing Display Configuration

Navigate to Multi-Entity & Display and click on the Display Configuration tab to access your formatting settings.

(The Display Configuration tab is highlighted - this is where you'll customize how your financial data appears.)

Currency Formatting Options

Configure how currencies are displayed throughout your Consolidation reports.

Symbol or Abbreviation

Choose your preferred currency identifier from the dropdown menu.

Decimal Places

Set the number of decimal places for currency display for example:

  • 0 - Whole numbers only (£1,000)

  • 2 - Standard accounting format (£1,000.00)

  • 3 - Extended precision (£1,000.000)

Currency Position

Choose where the currency symbol appears:

  • Before amount - £1,000.00

  • After amount - 1,000.00 £

Number Formatting

Customise how numbers are formatted in your reports.

Thousand Separator

Select your preferred separator:

  • Comma (,) - 1,000,000

  • Dot (.) - 1.000.000

Display Format

Set how numbers appear in reports with options like:

  • 1,234,567 - Standard format

  • 12,34,567 - European format

Negative Number Display

Choose how negative amounts are shown:

  • With Negative Sign - (-£1,000)

  • In Brackets - (£1,000)

Advanced Display Options

Represent Amounts As

Choose how large numbers are displayed:

  • None - Full amounts (£3,500,000.00)

  • Thousands (K) - Abbreviated (£3,500K)

  • Millions (M) - Simplified (£3.5M)

  • Billions (B) - Large scale (£0.0035B)

Preview Your Settings

The Display Format/Preview panel on the right shows exactly how your settings will appear

  • Actual Value - Shows full formatting

  • In Millions (M) - Displays abbreviated format

  • In Billions (B) - Shows large-scale format

Applying Your Changes

Once you've configured your display preferences, click Update to apply the settings across all your reports and dashboards.

Best Practices

For UK/US Companies:

  • Use comma thousand separators and 2 decimal places

  • Position currency symbols before amounts

  • Display negative numbers with brackets for clarity

For International Groups:

  • Consider your primary reporting audience

  • Use millions/billions abbreviations for executive dashboards

  • Maintain consistency across all group entities
