For better browsing of available products on the terminal device, the GeniusVoucher system allows categorizing the available products into categories. Examples categories include a Vegetables category that contains all vegetable products, Oils category that contains such products as olive oil or sunflower oil, and Grains category, that contains such products as beans and chickpeas. The Categories Component allows users to define units for quantifying products on the GeniusVoucher system. Categories defined by the user are visible to all projects in their company’s account on the system.

The user can navigate to the categories component by clicking on the Categories link from the Manage menu in the Header section of the web portal. In this interface, the user can add, edit and remove categories.

When the user navigates to the categories component, the system shows a list of the latest categories that were added. The system shows the categories inside of a table where each row is a category record. There are three pieces of information defined for each category: its Name, Parent Category and Name in Local Language. Parent categories allow two levels of categorization of products for even better organization and accessibility of products. The Name in Local Language field is the translation of the unit’s Name into the local language where the project is implemented. The system uses the Name in Local Language to display the categories on the terminal device.

To add a category, the user should click on the New button, and then, from New Category Interface, provide the new category’s details, then click the Save button to complete the operation. To edit an existing category, the user should click the Edit button from the Actions section of the interface, make the desired changes from the Update Category Interface, and then click the Save button to complete the operation. To remove a category, the user should click on the Delete button, and then click Yes to confirm the operation.

NOTE: a category cannot be deleted if it has been assigned to a product.
