Step 1: Launch Ask Alex
Start by launching Ask Alex from within your Genway project. You can access it directly from the Analysis Module.
Ask Alex is designed for qualitative research - it interprets themes, patterns, and participant sentiments.
⚠️ Important: Avoid quantitative queries such as “How many,” or “What percentage.” Ask Alex focuses on qualitative understanding, not numerical calculations.
Step 2: Ask Natural Language Questions
You can type your question in natural language or choose from suggested questions provided by Alex. The AI uses all interviews and participant data from your project to generate an answer that reflects real opinions and experiences.
Examples of good questions:
“What do participants like most about the product experience?”
“What were the main reasons people mentioned for canceling their subscriptions?”
“How do participants describe the sign-up process?”
Step 3: Review Answer Context
Each answer provided by Alex is backed by direct quotes and contextual information from multiple interviews.
You’ll see supporting quotes beneath the answer, showing exactly which participants and responses informed the insight.
Whenever you want deeper context, click ‘View Full Transcript’ to open the original interview segment within the Responses Page.
Step 4: Export or Copy Your Chat
You can copy your Ask Alex chat at any time to continue your analysis outside of Genway.
⚠️ Important: Once the Ask Alex window is closed, your session and questions are not saved. Make sure to copy important insights before exiting.
After reviewing an answer, share feedback directly with Alex.
You can submit positive or constructive comments to help improve its future responses. If you’d like, you can also join a brief feedback interview to share your experience.
