Building Investigation Packages

To build an investigation package from scratch, start by selecting one of the following items:

  • Incident Report

  • Other Report

  • Dispatch Event

  • Terrain Park Build

  • Waiver

  • Staff Training Summary

When viewing any of these items, you’ll see an Investigation Packages button at the top of the page:

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • If you're starting a package from an incident report, the incident #, patient name, and incident date fields will be automatically populated based on the selected report.

  • If you begin from any other area, these three fields will remain blank until you attach an incident report.

How to create a new investigation package:

  1. Click the Investigation Packages button at the top of the page to open the dropdown menu.

  2. Select the option for Build Investigation Package.

  3. A panel will open - fill in the applicable fields. Only Package Name is required to create a package.

  4. When finished, click Create Package to save your investigation package.

How to add to an existing investigation package:

  1. Click the Investigation Packages button at the top of the page to open the dropdown menu.

  2. Select Add to Investigation Package.

  3. In the panel that opens, use the search field to locate the package by name.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the desired package to add the item.

  5. You can also manage existing linked investigation packages here. To remove the item from a package, simply uncheck the corresponding box.

  6. Click the Submit button to save your changes.

Managing Investigation Packages

After an investigation package has been created, you may need to make changes, upload external documents, add notes or download a full copy of the package contents.

How to manage existing investigation packages:

  1. From the side navigation, go to Incident Reports > Investigation Packages.

  2. Select the Filters button above the table to assist with locating a specific package.

  3. Click any hyperlinked package name in the table. A side panel will open, allowing you to manage all elements of the selected package.

⚠️ Important: If multiple incident reports are attached to a single package, only the patient name from the first incident report will be shown in the Patient Name column.

How to download an investigation package

With your chosen investigation package open, click the Download button. You will know the download has started because the button text will change to ‘Downloading…’

The time it takes to download a package depends on the total file size and your internet speed.

⚠️ Do not close the open panel while the download is in progress – doing so will cancel the download.

To continue working elsewhere on the Manager Dashboard or on a new website, open a new browser tab and navigate as needed.
