Insights gives you a visual, customizable view of your incident report data, organized into tabs and widgets. This is a standalone module that is only available on the Manager Dashboard.
Tabs
The Insights page is made up of default tabs, which depend on your location's incident report template setup.
Date Range
Data defaults to the last 30 days. To change this, open the date dropdown and either:
Choose a predefined option, or
Enter a custom date range
Widgets
Widgets visualize your data. A widget can be a:
Bar graph
Pie chart
Count or total
Map (for select-type questions)
Each widget has a default view, but you can use the toggle options below it to switch visualizations (e.g., from bar graph to a table showing totals).
Note: For Ski Runs, Lifts, Parks, and Trails, data can only be visualized as totals in a table.
Settings: Managing Widgets and Tabs
Click the Settings button to open a panel where you can (depending on your user permissions):
Add, edit, or remove widgets and tabs
Drag and drop widgets to a new location within a tab
Move a widget to a different tab by clicking the pencil icon to open the modal and selecting a new tab
Adding a New Widget
When you add a new widget, a modal opens with three options:
Standard Create a basic chart or count card for a chosen metric.
Choosing Count will only ever show a total
Choosing Standard lets you select the visualization (e.g., bar graph) and widget width (1/3, 1/2, or full)
If you also select a value from the Equals selector, the widget will only show counts for that specific answer. This is most useful when using a Count Card
Finish by naming your widget and choosing which tab to add it to
Cross-Tab Compare data across two different questions. For example, compare the most common injury types based on whether the guest was in a lesson at the time.
Predefined If your location is missing default widgets (or they were previously deleted), use this option to add them back.
Printing to PDF
All Insights tabs can be printed to PDF using the Print PDF button, located to the right of the Settings button.
The PDF reflects whatever visualization is currently shown on screen - not the widget's default. For example, if a widget's default view is a bar graph but you've toggled it to Totals, the PDF will show the totals table.
Insights User Permissions
To change a user's permission level, you will need access to the User module.
Previously, the Dashboard was read-only, since widget customization wasn't possible. With Insights, all user accounts start with read-only permissions by default.
To modify a user profile:
Select Users > User Profiles from the side nav
Find and open the user profile you want to update
Select the Dashboard option (this will be renamed Insights in a future release of the Users module)
Open the dropdown and choose: Create/Edit or Create/Edit/Delete
đĄ Good to know:
Widgets are currently tied to your location, so any widget created will appear for all users at that location. In the future, widgets will be tied to individual user profiles, so each team member can build their own personalized Insights view.
