User Profiles
With the latest EDGEauditor release we’ve made it a lot simpler to manage users through the addition of user profiles. In the past, every time you created a new user you would need to manually select each module on the manager dashboard and app that the individual should have access to – and then repeat this process with each user. We have simplified the process so you can now create user profiles and then assign them to one or more users. For example, you could create a profile called “Frontline Patrol” and within the user profile screen you select the modules this profile should have access to. Once your profile is saved go to Active Users and apply this profile to anyone who should have it.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Any users that existed in EDGEauditor prior to the addition of user profiles will maintain the same access they had before. We’ve created a legacy profile for each user in our database so you would not have to setup all users from scratch if you didn’t want to.
If you need to modify any permission for these legacy users (so those without a user profile assigned) you will need to create and assign them a user profile.
Creating a User Profile
NOTE: Numbers 2 through 6 below correspond to the screen shots displayed on the next page.
From the side navigation select User Management > User Profiles.
Select the ‘+ New Profile’ button located in the top right-hand corner.
Name your profile.
Assign permissions to this profile on the Manager Dashboard Permissions tab (if applicable).
Assign permissions for the profile for the Resorts app by selecting the App Permissions tab (if applicable).
Select the green ‘Save’ button in the top right-hand corner to create your profile.
Repeat steps 2 through 6 for each user profile you would like to create.
You can modify permissions for a user profile by selecting the EDIT icon back on the main user profiles screen. You can also delete a profile from this same screen by selecting the DELETE icon for any profile shown.
Assigning User Profiles to Users
Now that you have created a user profile it can be assigned to one or more users.
From the side navigation select User Management > Active Users.
You can use the Search box to quickly locate a user.
Once you’ve found the user you want to assign a profile to you can accomplish this in one of two ways:
Using the drop down in the PROFILE column choose the profile to assign to that user. You will receive a confirmation message on screen once you make your selection.
Select the EDIT icon for that user and in the table under the User Access & Permissions heading select the profile to assign from the available drop down. The main reason to use this option is if the user has access to more than one location, which will allow you to quickly assign a profile for each location (NOTE: you will need to make sure you have user profiles created for each location first).
If you are within the EDIT screen for a user, assign the profile to that user, select the green ‘Save’ button in the top right-hand corner to save your changes.
Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each user profile you would like to assign to a user.
