EDGEauditor supports a variety of question types to suit different data capture needs. Below is a description of each type and how it would appear to users on the Resorts app.
Data Entry
Date: Uses a calendar picker to record month, day, and year.
Time: Captures time in 24-hour format. Users can enter time with or without a colon - for example, 0742 or 07:42 for 7:42 AM, and 1452 or 14:52 for 2:52 PM. The colon is added automatically. If users are unsure of the format, a tooltip is available for guidance.
Number: Accepts numeric input only, including whole numbers, decimals and negative values (e.g., 10, 250.5, or -5).
Text – Short: For brief, free-form responses such as a name, medication or known allergy.
Text – Long: For detailed written documentation, such as an incident description or a first aid narrative.
Selections & Toggles
Checkbox: Check the box to confirm that something has been completed or verified (e.g., "Alpine Responsibility Code is visible").
Boolean: Toggles between two values you define (e.g., "Open" / "Closed").
Select (Single Choice & Multi-Select): Dropdown field with predefined options.
Signatures & Media
Signature
Mobile: Sign using your finger on the screen.
Desktop: Sign using your mouse or trackpad
Image
Users can upload a photo from the device or take one using the camera (iOS and Android apps).
Diagram
Users can upload an image or take a photo to mark up using the built-in diagramming tools (iOS and Android apps).
If pre-loaded diagrams have been added to the report template, the user can choose one of those options from the list.
