Understanding the main Tasks screen

  1. Login to the EDGEauditor app with your user credentials and resort code.

  2. Select the Tasks module from the app home screen

  3. To add a new task, select the Add Task button.

  4. To filter the view, select the FILTER button in the top right-corner. Available filters are Department, Area and Priority.

  5. Any tasks with a red background are overdue and will appear at the top.

  6. Selecting the three horizontal stacked dots ("...") to the far right of the task will display up to 3 possible actions:

    • View Task: Opens up a more detailed view of what the task involves, including any notes or photos that are attached. From this view, you can also toggle over to the ‘Finish Task’ screen which is described below.

    • Finish Task: Select this option if the task has been completed. This is where you will record the name of the person who completed the task along with any notes (optional). From this view, you can also toggle over to the ‘View Task’ screen which is described above.

    • Complete Report: This option will only be available if the action set for the task is ‘Complete Report’. Selecting ‘Complete Report’ will redirect the user to the specific report within EDGEauditor that requires completion. Once that report has been submitted the staff member will need to return to this screen and choose the ‘Finish Task’ option.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Once a staff member has selected the Submit and Finish Task button from the ‘Finish Task’ screen, the task status will be automatically changed to ‘Completed’. Performing this action will remove the task from the app so staff can stay focused on any remaining outstanding tasks.

How to add a new task

One of the main benefits of the Tasks module is it empowers frontline staff to create tasks on the fly from their mobile device. Now we’ll walk through how to create a task using the app.

To add a new task, select the Add Task button from the main tasks screen. You will see a new task form to fill in that contains these fields:

  1. Link to Incident Report: If the task should be linked to an incident report, select this button and locate the report you wish to link the task to.

  2. Task Name (required): Describe the specific action you want the staff member to take. For example: "Complete daily sweep report," or "Shovel snow around all main entrances".

  3. Action (required): Choose whether the task requires Complete Task or Complete Report. If you select Complete Report, a new field called Report Name appears, letting you choose which report needs to be completed. The report must already exist in EDGEauditor before it can be selected here.

  4. Department: Assign the task to a department. Frontline staff can then filter the Tasks module to see only the open tasks for their department.
Departments can be added at https://resort.edgeauditor.com/app/staffs?tab=departments

  5. Area: Like departments, you can link a task to a specific area so staff can filter for open tasks in that area. Areas can be added at resort.edgeauditor.com/areas.

  6. Feature: Link the task to a specific feature, such as a ski run, lift, park, trail, or sign. If the same name is used across multiple feature types, a short form is added in brackets after the name to show which type it is:

    • Ski Run = SR

    • Lift = L

    • Park = P

    • Sign = S

  7. Type: Categorize the task (for example, Admin, Operations, Inspection, Accident Investigation, Trail Checks, etc.). Task types can be created at https://resort.edgeauditor.com/app/tasks?tab=task-types.

  8. Priority: Set the urgency level as Low, Medium or High so staff know how quickly the task needs attention.

  9. Due Date: Select the field to activate the calendar and choose a due date for your task.

  10. Notes: Add any extra details or instructions for the task.

  11. Add Images: Attach one or more images to the task. Maximum file size is 5MB, and accepted formats are JPEG/JPG or PNG.

  12. Create the Task: Select the green Create button to add the task to your template.
