Understanding 'One-Time Breaks' vs 'Weekly Recurring Breaks' on GeoWise

In GeoWise, effectively managing your schedule means setting two types of breaks: 'Weekly Recurring Breaks' and 'One-Time Breaks'. Below is a detailed explanation of each type:

Weekly Recurring Breaks:

Location in App: Availability → Call Out Hours → Within each day's settings.

Function: These breaks are set to recur on a weekly basis for the same day of the week. Ideal for consistent weekly schedules, such as a regular lunch break every Tuesday or a standing appointment every Friday afternoon.

Setting Up: Configure these breaks for each day of the week. For example, a lunch break from 1 PM to 2 PM every Monday will repeat every Monday.

One-Time Breaks:

Location in App: Availability → Schedule a Break.

Function: One-Time Breaks are for scheduling non-recurring breaks, useful for single events or extended periods like holidays. They offer flexibility for unique, non-regular time-offs.

Setting Up: Specify the start and end times for these breaks, including the specific dates. Schedule a break for a single day or block out multiple consecutive days for a vacation.

Key Differences:

Frequency and Regularity: Weekly Recurring Breaks occur on the same day each week, providing a routine structure. One-Time Breaks are for irregular, specific occurrences or extended periods.

Flexibility: While Recurring Breaks offer consistency, One-Time Breaks provide flexibility for unique or longer-term scheduling needs.

Usage: Use Weekly Recurring Breaks for routine commitments. One-Time Breaks are suitable for holidays, special events, or appointments that don’t fit into the regular weekly pattern.

By understanding and utilizing both types of breaks, you can tailor your GeoWise schedule to balance regular commitments with one-off or longer-term scheduling needs.
