To move an existing Stocks & Shares ISA (S&S ISA) to Chip, you'll first need to open one with us.

If you haven't opened your Chip Stocks & Shares ISA yet, here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the Invest tab in the Chip app.

  2. Follow the simple on-screen instructions.

The process only takes a couple of minutes. You don't need to deposit any funds; you just need to have the account open before we can accept your ISA transfer.

Once your Chip Stocks & Shares ISA is open, here are the steps to make your ISA transfer:

  1. In the Chip app, go to the Invest tab and then into your Stocks & Shares ISA.

  2. Select Transfer your ISA to Chip.

  3. Confirm the full balance of the ISA you want to transfer. (We can only accept a transfer for the whole amount, not a partial transfer.)

  4. Choose your existing ISA provider from the list. If you don't see your provider, you can register your interest, and we'll let you know as soon as more providers become available.

  5. Enter your 7-digit ISA reference number. You can usually find this on a statement or document from your current ISA provider.

  6. Enter your address. Please make sure this is the same address that your existing ISA provider has on file. (Even if it’s an old address, they must match for the transfer to be successful.)

  7. Check over all the details to make sure they're correct.

  8. When you're happy, tap Confirm ISA transfer.

That's all done! We'll handle the rest, and you'll see your Stocks & Shares ISA with Chip soon.

*When investing, your capital is at risk. The value of your investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than your original investment. Seccl Custody Limited is the ISA Manager for the Chip Stocks and Shares ISA. Fund management charges apply. ISA limits apply. Invest £20k per tax year. Chip does not provide tax or financial advice. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may be subject to change in the future.
