Yes, you can easily transfer from a Chip Cash ISA to a Smart Cash ISA. However, please keep in mind that we don’t currently support transfers moving from a Smart Cash ISA to a Chip Cash ISA.
How it works
Full transfers only: We can only process a full ISA transfer for these accounts, meaning your entire balance will move across.
Account closure: Once your funds have moved, we will automatically close your Chip Cash ISA, and you won’t be able to open another one.
Transfer timeframe: While most cash ISA transfers can take up to 15 business days, moving between these two Chip accounts is much faster and usually completes within a few hours.
How to start your transfer
There are two ways to request a transfer:
When opening a new account: If you’re opening a Smart Cash ISA for the first time, you’ll see the option to transfer your existing Chip ISA during the setup process.
Using the in-app banner: If you already have both accounts open, just head to the Smart Cash ISA or Chip Cash ISA in the Savings tab. You’ll see a banner inviting you to start the transfer.
