Before closing your account
There are a few things you should bear in mind when closing your Chip account:
Have you downloaded any statements you may need?
You can download your statements in the Profile tab under Account Statements. If you need a statement for a closed account in the future, our support team will need to generate it manually.Have you withdrawn any remaining funds?
Make sure to withdraw any remaining balances before requesting account closure.Do you have any pending Autosaves/Recurring deposits or card deposits?
We’ll need to wait for these to clear before proceeding with the closure. Card deposits can take 2–3 working days to process.Do you have an investment account open?
If you have a Stocks and Shares ISA or General Investment Account (GIA) open and you close your Chip account, you won't be able to open an investment account with us again in the future
How to close your account
To close your account, go to the Profile tab in the Chip app, scroll down, and tap Delete Account. This will connect you to our Customer Success Team. From there, select Send us a Message, then tap I want to close my Chip account at the bottom of the screen.
Important: Simply uninstalling the Chip app will not close your account—our team must complete the closure for you.
Once you complete the in-app chat closure process, you'll receive confirmation that your request is being processed. After your account is closed, you won’t be able to access the app or any closed accounts. Please follow the on-screen steps carefully, and our team will assist you in finalising the closure.

Can I close individual accounts within my Chip account?
You can’t close the Chip Instant Access Account, Chip Easy Access Account, or Prize Savings Account without closing your entire Chip account. However, you can close the Chip Cash ISA—just contact our support team to do so.
