While we no longer offer the below accounts to new customers, some longstanding Chip users may be aware of the following accounts or hold a balance in an account we previously offered. The accounts we no longer offer are the following:

OakNorth 90 Days' Notice account

The 90 Days' Notice account (powered by OakNorth) was a notice account previously offered by Chip. No further deposits were accepted into this account after the 30th of November 2023 and 90 days later, this account was closed and any remaining funds withdrawn.

Allica Easy Access Account

The Easy Access Account (powered by Allica) was an easy-access savings account previously offered by Chip. We stopped accepting deposits into this account in November 2024 and the account was closed and any remaining funds were withdrawn on the 31st January 2024.

Chip+1

The Chip+1 account is an older account type that we no longer offer to new users and from December 2022, stopped allowing deposits into.

If you still hold a Chip+1 account, you can either withdraw your funds to your linked bank account or transfer your balance over to another account within Chip.

To transfer your funds to another savings account within Chip, just open the app and look for the banner on the home screen titled: 'Transfer your money'

Simply click on the banner, follow the prompts and we'll take care of the rest.

Alternatively, you can access the transfer function through the Savings tab, just click on your Chip+1 account and look for the prompt to transfer funds.

The process of transferring your funds takes less than a minute, but if you can’t move your money or can’t see the in-app feature, first please ensure you are running the latest version of our app.

HTB

The HTB account (powered by Hampshire Trust Bank) was an account we previously offered. We stopped accepting deposits into it in November 2023 and this account was closed on the 17th of January 2024.

If you held any funds in the HTB account and they weren't withdrawn before the closure date, your funds will have either been transferred into your Chip Instant Access or Prize Savings Account (if you had either of these accounts open at the time) or withdrawn to your linked bank account.

E-Wallet/PFS

The PFS account was an E-Wallet previously provided by Chip.

If you held this account and missed our previous alerts, please read more here about what you will need to do if you held funds in the E-Wallet.

On the 8th of June 2022, the custody of your e-wallet passed to EML Payments Europe Limited (formally known as Prepaid Financial Services). You will be required to contact EML Payments Europe Limited to access your funds. An administration fee of £5.00 will apply to do this.

If you had a balance of £5 or under in your E-Wallet, you will not be able to request the return of your funds from EML Payments Europe Limited.

How do I access the funds that were held in my E-Wallet?

To access the funds that were held in your E-Wallet, please email EU-Info@emlpayments.com and provide the following information:

  • Your Chip ID (you can request this by contacting us via the in-app chat or via email at hello@getchip.uk)

  • Proof of ID (Valid Passport/Driving Licence)

  • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months (Utility Bill/Bank Statement)

  • Bank Statement for the account you want the funds to be transferred to (dated within the last 3 months)

Can I withdraw my e-wallet balance by contacting Chip directly?

Unfortunately, we aren't able to withdraw your E-wallet balance for you. We will direct you to EML Payments Europe Limited to access your funds. Chip will no longer have access to these e-wallets so we're unable to make any withdrawals on your behalf.

How can I find out how much money I have in the E-wallet?

You can message us via the in-app chat or via email (at hello@getchip.uk) to find out your balance, but please be aware that this will only be accurate as of the 8th of June 2022. We no longer have access to the balance so we cannot give you an accurate current figure.

Accessing statements for an account that is no longer offered

Depending on the account you need the statement for, you may be able to access statements on the Profile tab in the Account Statements section. If you're unable to access the statement(s) you require, please reach out to our support team via the in-app chat (which can be found in the Contact Us section on the Profile tab) or via email at hello@getchip.uk and we can look to generate a statement for you.
