Referrals

Chip offers a referral scheme whereby if you refer a friend to the Chip app, you will both receive a boosted rate on the Chip Instant Access Account for 90 days once all referral criteria have been met.

If you have been referred to Chip

If you've been referred to Chip by a friend, you just need to follow these steps:

  • Follow the link you received from the referrer to our referral webpage, enter your email address and click ‘Download Chip’. You must download Chip within 30 days of entering your email address and set up your new account using the same email address. We will apply the referral code for you at this stage. Alternatively, you can enter the referral code you were given within 7 days of creating the account

  • Deposit at least £5,000 into the Chip Instant Access Account

  • You must hold a Chip Instant Access Account balance of at least £5,000 for a minimum of 30 days

  • You must be on the latest version of the Chip app

If you have referred somebody to Chip

You can refer somebody to Chip by going to the Profile tab, tapping on Promos & Referrals and Invite a friend to Chip. A message containing the referral link and code will be populated and you can then send this to the person you would like to refer.

If you refer somebody to Chip, they must follow the link they receive to our referral webpage, enter their email address and click ‘Download Chip’. They must download Chip within 30 days of entering their email address and set up their new account using the same email address. We will apply the referral code for them at this stage.

Alternatively, they can download Chip and enter your referral code. Please note that they have 7 days to enter the code after downloading the app.

Once the code has been applied (either manually or by us), they will need to make a deposit of at least £5,000 into the Chip Instant Access Account and leave it there for a minimum of 30 days. Please note that they have 7 days to enter the code (if they're entering it manually) and deposit the minimum balance before the referral offer expires.

Fulfilling the criteria

Once all of the above has been completed, you will both receive a 0.26% AER boosted rate on the Chip Instant Access Account for 90 days.

Promotions

Chip offers several different promo codes through various affiliate sites. You can enter a promo code by going to the Profile tab, selecting Promos & Referrals and tapping Enter a promo code.

Once you have entered your code, deposit the required amount and hold it in the required savings account for the specified timeframe and you will then receive your bonus payout.

You will be able to view all of the promo criteria when you access the promo code.

Having trouble with a referral or a promo?

If you're having issues with a promo code or a referral, it's always worth checking that you have fulfilled all of the required criteria.

You can find the criteria for the referral scheme here and you will see the promo criteria when viewing the offer on any of our affiliate sites.

It's worth checking the following:

  • Have you deposited the required amount?

  • Have you held your deposit in your account for the required timeframe without withdrawing some or all of it?

  • Are you a new customer (if applicable) - meaning has your account been created in the last 7 days?

  • If it's a referral, has the person who you referred completed all of the criteria?

  • Did you deposit into the correct savings account within Chip? For example, for our referral scheme, you need to deposit into the Chip Instant Access Account

  • Are you on the latest version of the Chip app?

  • If it's a promo code, is the offer still valid? Promo codes are only offered for specific amounts of time so it's worth checking that the code is still in-date
