How to know if an email, text, or call from Chip is legitimate

Here's what to look for to identify legitimate communications from Chip and spot a scam.

How we contact you

  • SMS: We may send you an SMS, but these will only ever direct you to log in to the app. They will never contain a link.

What we will never ask for

  • Your password, PIN, or any other login details.

  • Your personal or financial information via email or text.

  • We will never ask you to click a link in an email or text message to log in to your account.

If you're ever in doubt

If you are ever in doubt about a communication from Chip, please do not click any links or share any information. Instead, contact us directly using a verified method.

You can reach us by emailing secure@getchip.uk or by messaging us via the in-app chat (which can be found on the Profile tab). Our team will confirm whether the request is genuine.
