Resume Processing Errors
Errors occur when CLARA's AI cannot properly parse or analyze the uploaded resume content. If there is any error uploading or processing a candidate an Error: "Error Processing Candidates" (shown with warning triangle) will appear on the Job, like in the screenshot below.
This is specific to organizations using CLARA as a standalone solution and uploading resumes manually, not for those uploading jobs automatically from their ATS.
To resolve the errors, click the button. The errors will be outlined and steps to resolve each error.
Upload and Processing Errors
The resumes with errors will be listed with an explanation of each error that needs to be corrected. Correct the file and upload the new file for each candidate.
After you have uploaded all the corrected files, click Upload and Process.
Common Causes & Solutions:
File is corrupted or cannot be read
Re-save the resume in a standard format (PDF, DOC, DOCX).
Ensure the file isn't password-protected.
Try downloading a fresh copy if received via email.
File exceeds maximum size limit
Compress large PDF files or reduce image quality.
Split multi-page documents if necessary.
Maximum file size is typically 3MB per document.
Unsupported file format
Convert files to supported formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT.
Avoid image-only files (JPG, PNG) without text content.
Network connectivity issues
Check your internet connection.
Refresh the page and attempt to upload again.
Text Quality Issues
Ensure the resume has clear, readable text.
Avoid heavily formatted documents with complex layouts.
Convert image-based PDFs to text-searchable PDFs.
Missing Critical Information
Verify the resume contains contact information (e.g., name and email).
Add missing essential details before re-uploading.
Unusual File Structure
Use standard resume templates.
Avoid non-standard layouts or creative designs that may confuse parsing.
Ensure proper section headings (Experience, Education, Skills, etc.).
Getting Additional Help
If you continue experiencing errors after following these troubleshooting steps:
Document the Error
Take screenshots of error messages.
Note the specific files or candidates affected.
Record any error codes or timestamps.
Contact Support
Provide detailed error information.
Include browser and operating system details.
Attach problematic files if requested.
